Had the unfortunate "oh damn my shower is ice cold" experience this morning (July 1). I called some random place in San Jose for a quote and got 2 others including this one. I filled out a Yelp "online quote" and Chris (Bay Area Water Heaters) was the first to ping me. Within 3 mins of a phone call, he gave me a quote that had a $200 range which is common-- the quote included the disposal of my old water heater, a new water heater as well as the installation. Value: Bay Area water heaters quoted $300-$500 less than others (had a total of 3 quotes). Price for 40 gallon Bradford White water heater ranges $1,650-$1,850 including tax/ installation. I think it's important to put the range quoted for transparency when folks write their reviews to keep companies honest. Response time (time from the call to when they showed up): they showed up within 1 hour, honestly crazy! Explanation of service: Sione was the tech, he rocks!! I don't know much about this kind of stuff but he walked me through what he was doing, how long it would take, what to expect once the water is back on... just a nice guy. Respectful and also spoke nicely/clearly and let me ask a few obvious questions that others probably would have thought "that's a dumb question" lol. Another reason I chose Bay Area Waters heaters was the fact I could text them pictures, ask when they were coming etc. i had many remote/zoom meetings this morning and not having hot water out a wrench into my morning. I was able to resolve this via text! I also like the fact they are fully licensed and offer a warranty for their service. Paying was easy-- you can pay over the phone or in person with the tech. I got my emailed receipt within 2 mins of them running my card.
